Peace, Love, Music...and a Birthday!

On Jake's actual birthday, we took a trip to Woodstock. Or the field that was once Woodstock. It was the most beautiful day and the museum was amazing (Jake slept through it). We all had fun stepping back in time and rolling in the field - and didn't even have to bathe in the pond!

Father's Day / Ellis Island

This was actually Ken's second Father's Day, since Jake was born at 9:17pm on Father's Day last year. I made sure that Ken knows he's not getting a baby for every Father's Day :)
So this year we visited Ellis Island and Central Park with Grandmother and Dan and had a wonderful day. Except for me, this was everyone's first trip to Ellis Island. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it, and Jake enjoyed the air conditioning. Hopefully he'll appreciate the history lesson next time we visit. Happy Father's Day to my hubby / Jake's awesome Daddy, our Dads, and all the wonderful Dads we know!

This was his first time to drink out of a water bottle.
He is a pro and LOVES it.

The Bow Bridge in Central Park...Jake was sleeping by this point
but for the rest of us, it was a great way to end a great day.

Happy Birthday Jake Parker!

Jake had such an amazing birthday party. We can't believe it's been a year since he made his first appearance in this world. We feel so blessed to be able to raise this incredible little man and have had the best (and craziest, least restful, sometimes stressful but amazing) year of our lives! Happy Birthday Jake!!

The first cupcake....

You sure this is ok?

Where have you been all my life?

This is delicious! You want some?

Or maybe I'll just eat it....

Messy and sticky but so worth it!

We have a climber!

Jake's first stair climb was a few days ago, and today he did the whole staircase! So big.

High Five

Jake's new trick...we're so proud.

Memorial Day (aka FLAGS!)

Flags are currently Jake's favorite object and he points out every one he sees. Memorial Day came at just the right time because we were able to see lots of flags in just a few days. Jake even celebrated with a flag that was just his size.

11 Months (and 2 days)

Our big man turned 11 months old a couple of days ago. He gets bigger every single day and continues to amaze us. He is still crawling constantly and doesn't seem to have much interest in walking yet...which is fine with us because we're still trying to keep up with the crawling. We're counting down to the big first birthday, which is bittersweet. We're excited for him to grow up and to see what kind of person he will continue to grow into. But he was so little just a few months ago. I know I've said it many times and will keep saying it....this year has gone by so fast!

With his best friend in the world.

Awesome new pull toy that he got as a gift yesterday and LOVES.

Trying to open the gate in his room.

Too cute for words.

He loves to tease us (and torture Bailey) by laying on her bed. Thankfully Bailey isn't very territorial and lets him get away with it, because he loves this game.
