April and May 2013

It seems like all to often these day I start off a post with "It has been a long time..." Since our last post Jen and I bought a house, I finished my second semester at business school and have I mentioned that we have a toddler and infant.  Needless to say time has been a luxury that we don't have much of these days.  That being said, here is a quick rundown of the past two months.

Its official.  Carter is a happy baby.  Everywhere he goes people comment on the fact that he is always smiling!  I just wanted to start the post off with that great smile.

We enrolled Jake in soccer again this season and he seems to be enjoying it more than last year.  He still seems to spend the majority of his time rolling on the ground instead of chasing the soccer ball, but at least he is having fun.  Carter loves to go to the games and watch big brother Jake run around.

"I am Batman".  Notice the underwear over his pants!

This was Carter's first attempt at real food.  He had avocado for the first time a the beginning of May.  Since then he has moved on to peas, green beans, apples and bananas.  So far his two favorites seem to be apples and peas.  Don't let these pictures deceive you, there was a lot of screaming and protesting, but eventually he started eating pretty well.  I think we are going to try sweet potatoes next!

Bailey turned six years on on May 7th!  I can't believe she is so old.  To celebrate, Jen got her that giant dog birthday bone.  Bailey LOVED it.

We all went to brunch for Mother's Day and took some pictures afterwards. Amazingly enough we were able to get some pictures where everyone was smiling with their eyes open at the same time.  Happy Mother's Day Jen!

Random Photos

Things have been pretty crazy in the Widman household over the past few weeks, so I apologize for not updating this as frequently as I should.  Below are some of the more recent pictures of Jake and Carter.  I don't have much time to write a lot but wanted to get some of the pictures out.

This was when Carter met Sophie for the first time.  He is finally getting the hang of her and they are quickly becoming great friends.

New fashion trend.  Iron man in cowboy boots!

Carter has officially moved to his high chair.  This was the first day he sat in it, and he seems to be very comfortable in the chair.

These two photos were from Carter's four month "birthday."  At 3.5 months he was in the 98% for weight of four month olds!  He is a chubby boy!

Now that he is four months Carter has started with cereal.  These pictures are from his first time, which wasn't so successful.  Since then he has really gotten the hang of eating off a spoon.

Grandma and Pop Pop Came to Meet Carter

A few weeks ago Grandma and Pop Pop came out to visit.  Jake was so excited to see them that I think Pop Pop is still recovering from the visit.  Basically when Pop Pop is around, nobody else sees Jake for a few days.  Since it was winter, we didn't get outside much but we did go to a local science museum so Jake could blow off some steam.

This is the first picture of Carter smiling.  Many thanks to Grandma for taking the picture.  These days he won't stop smiling, but this was just when he started responding to people with smiles.
